Natalie Aburto
Neurologic Music Therapist
Natalie is a Neurologic Music Therapist who graduated from Shenandoah Conservatory with her bachelor’s degree in music therapy, completing her internship at Medstar National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington, DC. Her passion for NMT began during an advanced practicum placement, where she had the opportunity to work alongside Shenandoah doctoral students of physical therapy. She earned her certification in NMT shortly after completing her internship. Beyond neurorehabilitation, Natalie is a strong advocate for expanding NMT’s reach to help more patients. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
Natalie is currently located in Edison, New Jersey, and serves as a clinician at JFK Johnson’s Center for Brain Injuries Extended Recovery Unit (ERU), specializing in Cognitive Rehabilitation. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family & friends, and trying new recipes! An avid fan of colorguard, Natalie enjoys both watching and participating in performances whenever she can. You can also catch her watching the latest episodes of Abbott Elementary.
